FLEXIBLE CELL CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY
FOR ELECTRIC FLYING
Emission-free flying is a long-term goal in aviation. In terms of commercial mass transport, however, the goal is still a long way off. Over the next two and a half decades, however, global air traffic is expected to double. The pressure for innovation in the industry to build aircraft that are more environmentally friendly and less expensive to operate is correspondingly high. 42 percent of all emissions are generally generated by flights with a distance of less than 1000 kilometers. Electric flying is considered an alternative in the industry and offers corresponding advantages.
A purely electric flight is emission-free, the aircraft emits no pollutants. Thanks to the smaller number of moving parts, electric propulsion systems generate lower manufacturing and maintenance costs. Electric propulsion systems enable completely new aircraft configurations and completely new possibilities in terms of transport services, such as air taxis.
CUSTOMCELLS® develops specially configured energy storage systems for aerospace applications. The systems go through extensive testing and usually several iteration stages to adapt the system. Our flexible cell construction technology and the high quality standards of the CUSTOMCELLS® production environment optimally support the development work. Through the development, construction and testing of small series, CUSTOMCELLS® can demonstrate and implement special performance profiles.
